Our Mission / ミッション

Most English-language Japan guides focus on Tokyo and Kyoto, leaving 40+ prefectures barely covered. We built omiyage47.jp to fix that — to give visitors and Japan lovers a single place where every prefecture, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south, is treated with the same depth and respect.

omiyage47.jp is operated by Kasegeya — an independent publisher focused on bilingual Japan travel resources. The site grew out of years of bringing back souvenirs from trips across Japan and watching friends abroad struggle to find authentic regional gifts. We built omiyage47.jp as the resource we wished existed.

omiyage47.jp は、日本のバイリンガル旅行情報を独立して発信するパブリッシャー Kasegeya が運営しています。日本各地を旅する中で集めたお土産の知識と、海外の友人達が「本物の地域土産を探すのが難しい」と語る声を背景に、このサイトを立ち上げました。

Beyond omiyage47, we’re building a “47 Series” of bilingual prefecture guides covering different travel themes. The goal is the same across all of them: treat every prefecture with the same depth.
